Well today is Thanksgiving. We are spending the holiday at home with a few people coming over (I only have Alisha’s parents verified). After watching the Macy’s Parade, Maddy and I took a bike ride over to the park. Now we are smelling fresh turkey, noodles, mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans and a plethora of other carbohydrates being cooked. I started drinking beers at 12:00p and am looking forward to a nap after dinner.
Oh, by the way, it is 81 here, and I am in shorts. This feels rather odd since I grew up in Indiana where it was snowing yesterday. I can distinctly remember snow on Thanksgiving.
Well I wish you farewell and a very happy Thanksgiving.

Once I recover, I will post more.
I have recovered.
Camping was fun. Pictures up soon. We went to Buescher State Park in Smithville, Texas. Located in the lost pines region, the area was beautiful with rolling hills and pine trees everywhere. The camp site was located next to a creek and hill that would have been nice if it had rained within the last 2 months. But since we are dry as dust, Bastrop enforced a burn ban over the county so no camp fires either. NO FREAKING CAMP FIRES.
It was a road trip out there with Jason and his two boys, Bryant and his two kids, and us with Maddy and a friend Hanna. We met up with Sarah and Ralph, Scott K and Rammy Swammy.

She has a raw and honest style that makes songs like "Redneck Woman", "All Jacked Up" and "Here for the Party", wildly popular party songs. Gretchen Wilson is one of Alisha’s favorite new Country artists. I got an e-mail Friday that tickes for the Austin City Limits taping of Gretchen Wilson would be handed out Saturday morning and the taping was Monday at 8:00p. I almost never hear about these till it is too late, so I jumped on the chance to get them. After a long night of poker, I woke up early to stand in line with Scott for the FREE tickets. They were pretty easy to be had since it was over a weekend and no radio announcement was made.
Then we waited till today around 5:00p to get our line number. The folks over at ACL let in the season ticket or "special" people in first. This includes the sponsor tickets. Then they let in us common folk. We were pretty far back in line, but ended up being one of the last to get in. The free concert lasted an hour and you get two free beers just by walking in the door.
This was my first time at an ALC taping and we decided to take Maddy since she knows many Gretchen Wilson songs by heart. Yes, she knows the words and loves to sing them. She should remember this experience and will certainly be on camera when the show airs Feb 4 06, and we probably will too.
All I can say is the show ROCKED!!! The room that ACL is taped in only seats about 200 people. The floor can hold 50 or so. Because we got in so late, we had to stand up front instead of getting a grandstand seat. This put us about 15 feet away from Gretchen and her band. Gretchen played all the favorites from her first CD and many from her recent release "All Jacked Up". Alisha and I both lost our voices from screaming so much. We even got to swing dance to "All Jacked Up" with a few of the other audience members. Maddy got a little tired near the end, but after words wanted us to crank up the CD in the truck.
Below is the cover for the concert’s program.
