With a new year comes new experiences. Maddy has been complaining of her hair getting tangled. We went to Radijazz (an indoor playscape) for Julie’s Birthday party this weekend and she kept brushing it out of her face. She asked Mamaw tonight if she would cut it. And for the first time (ever), I agreed. Sure, she has had trims here and there, but never a tried and true cut. Well, now Madison Rose Hall looks like a kid and not a toddler (she thinks she is an adult if you ask her). Check out the pictures from before and after.
Well UT hasn’t won a national championship in 35 years, but Jan 4th in Pasadena California, they did the impossible…beat USC after 34 straight wins. The Longhorns beat USC in the Rose Bowl 41-38. We had a few people over and went ballistic around the 4.5 minute mark in the 4th quarter when it looked like UT could come from behind (26-38) to win. And win they did. I know a lot of USC fans are going to complain about the pitch from Vince Young after his knee was down for a touchdown score, but all I have to say is at least no one pushed him over the goal line for the win?!?!
After Vince Young and UT ran away with the win, Austin went nuts. It was midnight and I-35 was packed going into town. We packed up the fam and went down to campus to join in the festivities. I am sitting at a light and a girl looks over at me. I smile and she flashes the horns. I roll down my window and she screams "Hookem Horns…I just won $600!!!!!!!!!" I start honking and then everyone starts honking at the intersection and windows are going down with people sticking their arms out the window and flashing the horns. When we finally got down to campus, it crazy. There were babies to 80 year old jumping around like kids. Every where you turn, cars are honking horns and people are haning out screaming with the "Hookem Horns" sign. I got some really good pictures of the tower lit up. I also changed the border up top to celebrate!
