Madison is a climber. We caught her climbin on the rails of her daybed/crib to get to the top shelf of her bookcase to turn on her stereo. So, we decided that she needed something more sturdy that she couldn’t kill herself on. In pops loft bed…boink…into Maddy’s head. So I plan to build one and we (her and I) scour through the internet looking at loft bed ideas. My dad says that making the dresser part is the hardest, so if we can find one and build a bed around it, that would work out best. While searching austin.craigslist.com I come across a loft bed that is nearly identical to and cheaper than anything I can make. So we picked up the bed this weekend. We also picked up a mattress/sheet set (that was actually more expensive than the whole bed…mattress people overprice those things like crazy!).
After refinishing/repairing/cleaning it, we put it up in Maddy’s room. She fell in love with it immediately and wanted to stay home from school on Monday to play on her bed. Wow.
