Just a quick note to let everyone know that we received our “Official” first screen results today. We are within the normal limits so there is no risk of this baby having down syndrome. Not that we were worried or anything – but thought you’d like to know.

Today we had our “first screen” testing for down syndrome. The baby moved and “waved” when prodded in the head with the ultrasound wand (just kidding). He/She seemed very active on the TV monitor, but refused to assume the proper position to get measured. And before you start asking, we can’t determine the sex until 20 weeks. We are at 13.5 now (Aug 6). However, he/she has a fast heart rate (girl) and the Chinese calendar test suggests a girl also. We won’t be doing the “drano” test, so don’t ask.
The first picture below is a left side view. To the right is the head and the thing poking up below the “HI GUYS!” is the left arm with hands clasped (left over right). The bottom picture is a top view” where you can see the skull (under the “ACE” and eye sockets and jaw, below the “Y F”). Remember, due to ultrasound limitations, you can see layers as opposed to a 3D picture so you can’t see all the parts all the times.

After an entire summer of rain, it finally dried out for a weekend. Therefore, I took the opportunity to get the stones out of my driveway and set them in their final resting place (patio). Below is after Jason, Jackie and I moved and placed all 4 tons of rock to the back yard in about as many hours while Alisha and Nelly rearranged and leveled the stones and Maddy helped in her own way. We need to finish the leveling and get the filler stone for the spaces between the rocks. Then we’ll be done!
